Wings, 2001 is again the start of a new series of forms that will be cast in metal. It is made in a size of/for a human being. As a hybrid between a shield and the Winged Beings - mounted as armature against a wall, "wings" manifests a physical constraint. Winged in a shield, sheltered as a plate it defies the urge to go beyond; and at the same time, it triggers that desire - serving as a vehicle to do so. It is about the physical reality of a wishful crossing of borders. » more

Winged Beings I + II, 2001 are the beginning of a series of new works that are made in hydrocal plaster for bronze and stone. The form reminds of a type of petrified shell that is found in the deteriorating cliffs around the Bay of Fundy.

Facing the Sky, 2001. What color is the sky? And if we decide for ourselves, whom do we see in there? The center is the reflection on our self; the outlook is the reflection in the other. A mask as counterpart hides more than it reveals, solidifies more than it moves and moves more than the sight.
