Atlantic Stone Carving Symposium

Atlantic Stone Carving Symposium, 2005

“A shield of stone that is resting in an upright position reflects on our uprightness. It invites for an encounter and moment of repose in the shelter of its suggestive unfamiliarity.”

Vanessa Paschakarnis

Vanessa organized the first Atlantic Stone Carving Symposium that was hosted by the Inverness Centre of the Arts and supplied with Canadian marble by McLeod Quarry in Cape Breton, NS. The symposium was a very successful event, taking place in Inverness, Cape Breton, NS, Canada. The 14 day event so many visitors come to the location to see the artists at work and talk about art and natural resources. There was an exhibition of the work and a catalogue was produced to document the event.
